Does the IBS protocol work for IBS diarrhoea predominant as well?
Yes the IBS protocol works as well for IBS diarrhoea. This would be the recommended protocol:

Will including mushroom support exacerbate candida parapsilosis?
Mushroom support will be effective and will not exacerbate candida as long as the the extract form and not the powder is used. Hifas da Terra extracts are made with the purest form of extracts containing no excipients thus ensuring maximum support. The presence of such excipients ( which may be present in other brands)  will actually feed the bacteria so purity is key.

Should one use Mushrooms if one suspects a Candida overgrowth in a client?
Yes absolutely. Again we only recommend extracts as mushroom powders contain polysaccharides that would be feeding the bacteria. Hifas da Terra’s pure extracts with Mico-Shii & Mico-Rei below increases host resistance against infectious agents, including Candida, through stimulation of macrophage activity microbicide.  We also tend to add Mico-Leo  to support the endogenous gut flora, key in maintaining the harmful pathogens under control.

How long would you prescribe the lion’s mane for Helicobacter pylorii eradication?
It is usually advisable to use Mico Leo, Mico-Rei & Mico-Shii that demonstrate antiviral & antibacterial activity for a minimum 6 to 9 months or until the client receives confirmation of the eradication of the H.Pylori bacteria.

Hi Cata, I have a question about absorption of mushrooms, in the case of sub-optimal gut health. If the gut is inflamed or permeable, will this impede uptake?
No, on the contrary when there is damage and inflammation in the gut, M cells, specialised epithelial of the mucosa-associate lymphoid tissue  are increasing instead of reducing. This then allows all external pathogens and nutrients to enter making mushroom absorption also possible in this case. The active compounds in Mico-Leo actually not only repair but regenerate the epithelial cells in the gut.

Which foods can we find potassium ascorbate in?
Foods may contain potassium ascorbate, ,however it is not the only ingredient important for absorption.

The Hdt Askorbato is a complex formula containing additional ingredients including olive leaf extract, resveratrol, Vitamin C that can not only be used to increase betaglucan absorption but also is a great antiviral. Food cannot replace this formula in this case as it wouldn’t reach our targeted therapeutic levels. We need active transport in the lymphatic system that is not meditated by food in chronic conditions.

What about other cancers such as breast cancer – what would you recommend as a protocol?
We have specific protocols for the different types of cancer with a  recommended cycle and dosage of the cancer pathway.

• For active tumours:  We recommend starting with 2 Vials/day
• When the markers are under control, and there is an inhibition of the tumours, we bring down the dosage to 1 vial/day for approximately 2 months  
• We then continue with our Mico-Corio PSK extract of a dosage of 3g /day for 6 months ( that is 6 capsules/day)  for another 2 months
• After that, the recommendation is to stay on 2 capsules/day of the Mico-Corio PSK once the cancer is in remission
