‘Reversal of Cognitive Decline: Sustained Improvement for Over a Decade’
Dr Dale Bredesen
Dr. Bredesen graduated from Caltech and received his MD from Duke. He served as Resident and Chief Resident in Neurology at UCSF, then was postdoctoral fellow with Nobel laureate Prof. Stanley Prusiner. He was the Founding President of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
The Bredesen Laboratory studied basic mechanisms underlying the neurodegenerative process, and the translation into effective therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease, leading to the publication of over 220 research papers. He established the Alzheimer’s Drug Development Network with Dr. Varghese John, leading to the identification of new classes of therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease. His work led to the discovery of subtypes of Alzheimer’s disease, followed by the first description of reversal of symptoms in patients with MCI and Alzheimer’s disease, with a precision medicine protocol, and a recent successful proof-of-concept trial. Dr. Bredesen is the author of two New York Times best sellers. He is currently a professor at UCLA.

Her presentation will focus on delivering insights and practical suggestions from the very latest in diagnosing SIBO. She will explain how to interpret breath tests and review new breath-testing technology options that are changing the way we practice.

Allison Siebecker, ND, MSOM, LAc, is the 2021 Lifetime Achievement recipient from the Gastro ANP. She is instructor of Advanced Gastroenterology, as well as former Medical Director and Co-Founder of the SIBO Center for Digestive Health, at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM). She is IBS faculty for the GI Health Foundation and is the Co-Founder of the NUNM SIBO Symposium and GI Conference- continuing education for physicians. She has specialized in the treatment of SIBO since 2010, is an award winning author and the creator of the free educational website siboinfo.com.

Dr Cate Shanahan is a leading authority on nutrition and human metabolism. A board-certified Family Physician with over 20 years of clinical experience, and NY Times bestselling author of The FatBurn Fix, Deep Nutrition and Food Rules, her expertise is fixing the underlying problems that cause metabolic damage and inflammation, leading to autoimmunity, weight gain, diabetes, cancer and accelerated aging processes. Her passion is helping people feel their best.
After getting her BS in biology from Rutgers University, she trained in biochemistry and genetics at Cornell University’s graduate school before attending Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
