A huge expo

The UK’s leading product and service suppliers bring their special show-only offers and discounts exclusive to our attendees

Although live education is back and more exciting than ever, we know how well-received online IHCAN education has been over the past 18 months, so that’s why it’s here to stay!

We’ve got world-class speakers and, thanks to a bespoke bit of techno-wizardry, you’ll enjoy a virtual expo featuring specialist practitioner suppliers as well as short break-out sessions and online networking.

Dr Cheryl Burdette, ND, lead the first virtual summit of the year. Founder of PersonalogiX Health Academy, Cheryl is Director of Education and the Naturopathic Residency program at Progressive Medical and founder and Educational Director of the functional laboratory, Precision Point Diagnostics. Cheryl has previously wowed our online audiences with her practical “clinical pearls” on how to use diet, supplements and botanicals. She draws on a wealth of experience in clinic, with diagnostic testing, and with study design and translational research.

How does it work?

We’re using a bespoke virtual conference and expo platform – you don’t need to  download any additional software and it will work on every device.

‘Unravelling the Mysteries of Managing the Histaminergic Load’

There are many facets to histamine beyond the mast cell. We will look at factors that influence the production of histamine. Histamine is of course released in response to IgE reactions, but toxins and tissue damage can also cause histamine’s release.

Current environmental toxicity is riddled with reasons for an increase in histamine production, and we will examine environmental toxicants that are most relevant in this area. We will review strategies to stabilize mast cells beyond quercetin and cromolyn as well as basophils. We will look at the uniqueness of histamine receptors and their role in neuro excitement, vasodilation, inflammation, HCL production and even catabolism of tissue. We will examine relevant markers like tryptase and diamine oxidase levels that show activation of mast cells and poor degradation. We will consider routes of elimination such as acetylation, methylation and degradation by diamine oxidase. We will also look at various treatments that address production, inhibit binding, and improve degradation, as well as conditions that might not be obviously recognized as histaminergic.

About Dr Cheryl Burdette

Founder of PersonalogiX Health Academy, naturopathic physician Dr Cheryl Burdette is Director of Education and the Naturopathic Residency program at Progressive Medical and founder and Educational Director of the functional laboratory, Precision Point Diagnostics. Cheryl has wowed our online audiences as she draws on her experience in clinic, with diagnostic testing, and with study design and translational research, to give us reliable  directions on diet, supplements and botanicals.

‘The Oxygen-Dysbiosis Connection’

In this talk Alex will discuss how the metabolic health of colonocytes helps maintain a healthy microbiota, via their influence on oxygen. Learn how metabolic reprogramming of colonocytes, to restore epithelial hypoxia, represents a promising new therapeutic approach for rebalancing the colonic microbiota in a broad spectrum of human diseases.  The talk will finish by contemplating whether a similar mechanism may be contributing to dysbiosis or a bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine.

‘From PASSIVE health care to PROACTIVE health creation; Enter the new paradigm of personalised Health Coaching and Mentorship!’

UK health leader Dr Rosy Daniel has worked for twenty years to pioneer the Health Creation – a powerful approach to health and wellbeing that inspires, uplifts and fulfils both clients and mentors in her heart-warming approach. The process starts with the Picture of Health tool which gives both a visual impression of strengths and vulnerabilities, as well as a score known as the ‘Life Energy Factor’. In this way we can map and measure the elusive quality of wellbeing and guide people to the root causes of illness and dis-ease in body, mind, spirit and environment. With 35 years’ experience of Integrative Healthcare, teaching, writing and broadcasting Rosy is determined to share all she has learned to empower her Mentor students to catalyse a ‘Wave of Wellness’ so greatly needed to prevent and reverse the pandemic of lifestyle illness that is ruining lives and collapsing the NHS! She wishes to catalyse a sea change in society, putting full focus and funding into health and wellbeing, to see people flourish and function at their full potential, with high energy health and consciousness.

Breakout sessions:

A selection of short break-out sessions on a variety of topics – take your pick! But don’t worry if you want to watch more than one, you’ll receive the recordings for every session after the event:

‘Getting the Best from Probiotic Recommendations in Practice’
Sarah Oboh, hosted by OptiBac

Probiotics can help to support gut health issues and research suggests they may be helpful for other conditions such as heart health, obesity, genitourinary issues and more. However, to really maximise the effect of any probiotic supplement, it’s important to understand how they work best. Join us as we go through some practical tips on how to use and recommend probiotics for a more effective approach with your clients.

‘Butyrate: The Bread And Butter Of Gut Health’
Alex Manos, hosted by Healthpath

In this presentation Alex will briefly summarise the properties and functions of butyrate before discussing alternative molecules that may be able to “replace” butyrate including isobutyrate, B-hydroxy butyrate, acetoacetate, and acylcarnitines. He will also explore how we can test for butyrate and what the necessary requirements are for adequate production. This presentation helps set the stage for Alex’s presentation on the oxygen-dysbiosis connection.
